Descendants refer to Edom Lovitt as "Needham" stating that was his given name.
He owned and farmed land on Jellico Creek, Whitley Co., KY and begins paying
taxes in 1819 until his death in 1844.
Edom Lovitt is enumerated in 1820 through 1840 U.S. Federal Census in Whitley
Co., KY. He is named as Edward Lovitt in the 1830 census.

Kentucky Land Office Warranty No. 4530, containing 50 acres; surveyed date
August 30 1822 in the County of Whitley on Gilico (Jellico) Creek. Registered

In July 1979, Mrs. William McCall of Lexington, KY found the following document
which contained valuable information and proof of Edom Lovitt's wife and
children.
